Grande Island sits at the entrance to Subic Bay and contains the ruins of Fort Wint.
Occupied by the Japanese Imperial Army during World War II, Fort Wint was built by
the US Army between 1907 and 1920. The fort’s primary armament were 
8 inch and 12 inch Buffington Crozier rotating cannons.
